Program Resources

The webinar handout can be found here.

If you’re having a difficult time finding a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for a product you use, here is an SDS you may use for training. Here is an example certificate of training that could be used with your  program.

Pictograms are important sources of information with GHS. As you train employees, these pictogram tests could be used to assess employees understanding of the different pictograms and meaning as in your training. Remember, you can find downloadable pictogram files on the OSHA website.

Additional resources that are found on the OSHA website.

The guide mentioned by webinar presenter Keri Perna, OSHA Eau Claire Area Office, is “A Guide to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).”

Additional GHS resources are available on the OSHA website, including QuickCards, wallet cards, factsheets, and the downloadable pictograms.

The Oregon OSHA GHS Labels and Safety Data Sheets Interactive Training is a good example of content for a training.

Questions After the Webinar

  • Would our drivers need this training?
    • GHS was also adopted by the Department of Transportation (DOT) , Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).  Your training for truck drivers, Worker Protection Standards (WPS) or other chemical-related safety programs will be transitioning to GHS.
  • Who can be a trainer? Are there required training for a trainer.
    • There is no requirement in the standard for trainer requirements or identified training programs for instructors.
