In Wisconsin rural communities, health professionals (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, etc.) are often the first to see/care for farmers, workers and family members affected by a farm injury or work-related illness. In addition, PA’s, social workers, physical therapists and others in closely related health professions are in a good position and have a high level of credibility and can be great partners in prevention efforts. Numerous workshops and activities can be tailored for these groups (ranging from short sessions to full-day conferences) and can include providing needed CEUs and other appropriate educational content needed by these groups.
